Hyundai Motor Co. plans to increase U.S. market share to 4.5 percent this year from 4.2 percent in 2009, by launch a new popular product  and aggressive marketing.

Hyundai, the only major automaker to increase sales in the U.S. market, after broken last year, saw a good opportunity in U.S. sales. Last year, Hyundai’s U.S. sales rise 8.3 percent to 435,064 units, while the overall U.S. industry sales down 21 percent. U.S. market share jumped to 4.2 percent from 3 percent in 2008.

Hyundai’s U.S. chief executive, John Krafcik said it was unlikely the car can match with a weight of 1.2 percentage point increase in U.S. market share in the 2010. Hyundai may get a share because of Toyota’s sales decline in 2010. Hyundai, GM, Ford Motor Co. (FN) and Chrysler all offer $ 1,000 incentives for consumers in the trade of Toyota vehicles.
